DWEM provides contract suppression services during the fire season with crews based in Lillooet and Pemberton. Our objective is to provide high quality crews and a professional service. We draw heavily upon First Nation members with the objective of providing meaningful employment and building skill sets in younger members.
Fire Suppression Training:
John Davies is an externally recognized instructor for the Protection Branch S100 course. Mr. Davies annually provides the S100 course to hundreds of people in the Sea to Sky corridor and has worked for VANOC, Whistler-Blackcomb, First Nations, Peter Kiewit & Sons, and the Resort Municipality of Whistler.
Mr. Davies is also a guest lecturer for the BC Institute of Technology Forestry and Wildlife programs. He has provided classroom instruction for ecologically base prescribed burning as well as field tours for prescribed burning and fuel management.
